This was followed by Girls Aloud’s first number 1 with Sound Of The Underground. In the nine years since, Nadine had been able to reach pop music’s highest heights. The 7 years of success with Girls Aloud including six albums and 21 singles. That was the springboard to her solo career with Insatiable as well as her current life in the USA.

Meanwhile, we patiently wait for Girls Aloud to reunite and bring so much musical pleasure to so many of us.

It’ll be a while yet before Nadz reaches the 3 decade mark. She’s only on the quarter century. It’s nice to see that she doesn’t ignore the other girls as is often claimed in the usual places.

PS. I’m stopping the Monday Memories series. But I’ll still be bringing you classic Nadine moments as often as I can beginning with a very important birthday that is coming up.

Irish singer Nadine confirmed there is ‘nothing stopping’ a reunion of the estranged girl group at some point in the future. But she did admit that, first of all, she wants to get her debut album Insatiable off the ground.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Nadine said: ‘There is absolutely no rivalry with me and Cheryl. Not one single bit at all.’

These revelations come after months of speculation that the girls are at war after Cheryl’s successful solo career and Nadine’s apparent nonchalant attitude to reuniting the band.

But Nadine, 25, was keen to dismiss these conflict rumours saying they are just different people each with their own ambitions and she is enjoying seeing what the others are now up to as well as working on her own projects.

‘We are completely different people, all five of us were as a matter of fact, and that was why it was so great being ‘the band’. But our own opinions and styles and stuff are totally different so I think it’s really interesting to see what everybody’s doing now,’ she said.

And Cheryl echoed those views at getting the remaining band members back together again on stage: ‘We will but just not now.’

The British fivesome who shot to fame in 2002 after winning Popstars: The Rivals, split last September for a one-year break to work on solo ventures.

While Cheryl launched her solo career with debut album 3 Words, Nicola Roberts introduced a new cosmetics range, Kimberley Walsh tried her hand at TV presenting and Sarah Harding switched between Hollywood acting and working on her and boyfriend Tommy Crane’s club Kanaloa.

Nadine had always made it clear she wanted to comeback with a solo career but didn’t announce plans until this August which seemed to hinder the planned reunion of the band this September.

But despite these split fears, Nadine attempted to reassure fans there is still hope for the Love Machine singers in the near future: ‘The fans know the craic and they know it’s not up to me to decide the fate of five people.

‘I would think there is nothing stopping us all doing something together at some point.’

And the possibility of duetting with Chezza isn’t off her radar either – but not until her second album: ‘We sung in a band together. We’ve collaborated for eight years.

‘Right now I am just so busy concentrating on Insatiable. That would be for a different album.’

Things certainly seem to be sweetening between the pop princesses though. As well as the X Factor judge personally wishing Nadine all the luck with her new solo career, we understand when the LA-bound singer announced her engagement to American football boyfriend Jason Bell last month, she received a bunch of flowers from Cheryl and the rest of her bandmates with a hand-written congratulatory note.

And in a separate interview with Metro, Chezza told how she was ‘sad’ when she heard rumours that Nadine is dismissing a reunion so she’s likely to be pleased to now hear a Girls Aloud comeback isn’t off the cards.

‘We haven’t been seen together but she lives in LA so it would be pretty hard to. I see the others on a daily basis so for us it’s not weird.’

Sad news for Girls Aloud fans – it appears lead singer Nadine Coyle has ended that chapter in her life.

I hear the star is now referring to her time in the band as “the past” and has vowed never to perform as part of the chart-topping fivesome again.

My source reveals it’s a Whole Lotta History for Nads, 25: “Nadine’s moved on. She loved her time but feels lately things changed dramatically.

“She doesn’t intend to ­perform with them again and is openly telling pals she’s no longer part of the band. She talks about being with them in the past tense. It’s like a new chapter in her life is beginning – the future is her solo career.”

My sources say relations between Nadine and the girls have been far from happy in recent months. “They are not in touch at all,” says my mole.

“Nadine swears she’s tried to get in touch with them all but not heard anything back. They’ve grown apart. With the amount of animosity they have against her now it would be almost impossible for them to regroup. She has to make her solo career her ­priority.”

This week Nadine told me how excited she is about her work.

She said: “I have these ­visions when I think about being a popstar of watching a Diva’s Live concert in Vegas and seeing women in amazing long gowns singing their hearts out. The light show’s amazing, the band are tight and the backing singers are going crazy.

“That’s what my dream of being a singer was. It still is!”

She’ll do fine without the Girls!

Girls Aloud’s “The Promise” is nominated for an Ivor Novello award for Most Performed Work. The song is running up against Lily Allen’s “The Fear” and James Morrison’s “Broken Strings”. “The Promise” was written by Brian Higgins, Miranda Cooper, Kieran Jones, Jason Resch, Carla-Marie Williams, Tim Powell and Nick Coler (published by Warner/Chappell Music).

“The Promise” is Girls Aloud’s fourth number one single in the UK Singles Chart and won “Best British Single” at the BRIT Awards 2009. It was the first single to be taken from the group’s fifth studio album Out of Control.

Brian Higgins said that Xenomania knew that “The Promise” was “the piece of music Girls Aloud needed to announce them as a supergroup in this country”: “‘The Promise’ was the sound of a big group, a group about to be huge. They needed the theme tune to the biggest girl group on the planet”.

The Ivor Novello Awards recognise the best British songwriting and composing. The ceremony will take place on Thursday 20th May 2010 at the Grosvenor House, London. See the full list of nominees

The other singers have had “girlie chats” at each others’ home during their year off from performing together.

But Nicola said they have not heard from LA-based Nadine since the autumn.

Nicola, 24, told Hello! magazine: “‘If I’m really honest, we haven’t spoken to Nadine since we did the Coldplay gig at Wembley in September.

“I talked to the other girls about it on Monday and no, none of us have heard from her.

“But there’s no feud.”

NADINE COYLE’S had to put up with a lot of stick this week with rumours that she doesn’t get on with CHERYL COLE and the rest of Girls Aloud.

So the Irish singer gave me a bell from her home in Los Angeles to set the record straight on their so-called feud.

First up she tackled whispers over her relationship with Cheryl. Close friends of the love-split star insist Nadine – working on her debut solo album – DIDN’T contact Cheryl when she fled to LA after hubby ASHLEY’S cheating emerged.

But Nadine told me: “I sent Cheryl an email and I CALLED her. I was like: ‘Hi.’ And she said: ‘I’m in LA’. I was working on the album and dashing around. She was working and doing her thing.

“She wasn’t here for very long so we didn’t get the chance to meet up with each other.”

Nad’s also been in London recently and tried to hook up with the girls. But this week SARAH HARDING said: “I didn’t know she was even in the country.”

Nad, however, assured me she HAD been in touch with all four bandmates – including NICOLA ROBERTS and KIMBERLEY WALSH.

She said: “I sent them a message saying I was back but they must have been busy or something.”

Yet she insists the time apart isn’t doing the band any harm.

“I think having space from each other is a good thing. People were in each other’s faces all the time. It’s good to have a break so we can see our own friends, who have been neglected for the seven years we’ve been together.”

But she added: “I’ve always been close to Cheryl. We’re completely different people. We respect each other for what we’ve done and the different places we’ve come from in life.

“It’s offensive to say I think she’s milking a really difficult time in her life for success. I would like to know who’s saying we’ve fallen out because I know it’s NOT coming from me.”

Last week I revealed how Black Eyed Peas frontman WILL.I.AM has got the hots for Cheryl. So Nad was surprised to see him wining and dining another woman. “I saw him last week at a restaurant with a girl. He must be one of those!” she laughed.

Girls Aloud management had hoped to get the band back in the studio working on their next album by the end of the year, but that’s not going to happen now.

Nad added: “I haven’t really spoke to anyone in the Girls Aloud camp. We don’t have any plans.

“Everyone was deserving of having a break. Some of the girls were older and wanted to relax. Some wanted to do solo stuff. Everyone is entitled to go and do their own things.”

She said: “I would hate to think people were worried or think I have any type of eating disorder.”

But Nad admitted: “I’m probably a little UNDERWEIGHT for my height. But I’m not a size zero and I never have been.”

Meanwhile, bandmate Sarah Harding didn’t pull her punches after losing weight last year. She said: “I looked skeletal up top. Now I’m enjoying eating whatever I like. I don’t worry. I love bacon and sausage butties.”

She told me: “It was strange standing in his place. And the lads joked, ‘Don’t sing the song too good or Stephen will be cursing you from above.’”

Nad also revealed Stephen looked after her when she moved to London at 16. “He was like a big brother to me. He made me feel like everything was all right.”
