I don’t think I need to say anything else. This was one of the key partnerships in what made GA so great. Whatever Nadine is up to it will certainly be something special.

Yet again, today is another day for the press to take a swipe at Nadine for another untrue story.

The Daily Mail claim that she had been offered 500k and it was an offer she couldn’t refuse.

Her manager Thomas and Nadine herself have denied this story on their twitter pages:

When will the UK papers ever stop writing untrue stories

After another Girl Aloud got me online I remembered there were some tweets that needed to be reported. A couple of days ago (18th) her manager Thomas Martin tweeted:

This is actually pretty clear and exciting news that Nadine’s working on new songs. I hope we get to hear them soon.

Yesterday, Nadine decided to share funny things that her mammy has said. Though I think the American is rubbing off on her. Mammyism should be spelled with an s.

Nadine is again being mysterious. Last night she tweeted this:

As a sailor myself, I find this news very cool. As reported on the Clipper Round the World Race News page, Nadine visited her home-town crew and yacht in Oakland.

Diney had the following to say:

“It was brilliant to meet the crew. It’s amazing they have been part of the Clipper Race for so long and here they are in San Francisco Bay – well done to them all”

The crew for Derry are using the Clipper Race to promote the city, and having one of their own biggest stars must have been wonderful for them. It’s also a bit of a change of tack for Nadine after her recent ANTM appearance, exchanging American glamour for something more workaday. However she still turned up in a stylish black dress and high heels, not the best nautical gear.

Mark Light, the skipper, said:

It was fantastic to welcome her aboard the Derry-Londonderry yacht. She was very enthusiastic about the Clipper Race and had great admiration for the crew who were thrilled she’d taken the time out to come along and wish us luck

I’d be thrilled too. Hopefully it gives them a bit of extra confidence for the rest of the arduous race. The 40,000 mile race will end in Southampton in July. It’s a long way to go, but then maybe Nadine has a few travel tips for them, seeing as she’s probably travelled that far many times over.

12th April – Visiting the Derry-Londonderry sailors

Obviously people know a good thing when they hear it. As the Gigwise poll remained open, Nadine climbed the rankings to settle at the No.1 spot. Where else could she possibly belong?

Gigwise viewers were polled on the greatest Irish musicians of all time. At this point you can probably guess that Nadine made it!

The top 5 list was as follows.

Of course we think she should be at No.1. Voting is still open so maybe we can change that? At least we know she won’t be in the list of worst.

Well if Dean Piper is to be believed, the answer is an emphatic YES!

The “Celebrity & Showbiz Expert and Cultural Commentator” ran into Diney at Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Oscar Party (see previous entry). In Nadine’s own words:

“I know everyone’s been speculating about what we will do. It will be arena dates at the start of next year and we will have new music to go with it.
“One or two singles I would think. It depends on how well it goes with the tour announcement. If things work well, there’s enough demand and we’re all in the same head space as a band then who knows what could happen.
“I’m definitely looking forward to seeing the girls. It’s been a long time since we’ve all been in the same room together.”

That’s great news as far as I’m concerned. Being the sceptical so-and-so that I am, I’ll still hold back some excitement for when some truly official news comes in. But this looks as legit as we’re gonna get for now. Rejoice Girls Aloud fans, we’re getting our Girls back soon.

Nadz commented on the other girls too:

“I’ve been really worried about Sarah and I’m glad to see she’s getting better,”

“I’m thrilled Kimberley’s doing well on the West End and Cheryl and Nicola are working hard on their music.

“Everyone was so keen to put Cheryl and me against each other – but we just weren’t enemies. We are very different people musically, that’s all.”

She also commented on her own music work:

“I went with Tesco because I wanted to be in control and I’m proud of what I achieved. Cheryl was always going to do far better chart wise – she was on X Factor to begin with. I’ve spent six years in LA now – maybe I needed to be in the UK more.”

Finally, a comment on her ex-fiance Jason:

“Jason is still a part of my life and it has been a tricky one to let go of. We speak all the time and ultimately I guess it’s just complicated with us.”

It’s been a long time since we had some genuine Nadine news to write about and it’s great that it’s such a positive article.

We heard about the news back in October last year, but we now have a date, for Nadine’s guest judge appearance on America’s Next Top Model: British Invasion.

It will air on 29th February in the U.S. The UK showing will be later on in the year on Sky Living.

Nadine has already filmed her part, and apparently she teaches the models how to shoot a music video, before judging the final look.

We cannot wait to see Nadine starring in such a big programme. Well done girl!
