The model is finished [yay!].

I added some studio lights and a camera to liven the scene up a bit. I’ll discuss with Hayley what we’ll do with it.

I’ll try to bring you all some great features soon. Maybe a 2nd series of videos or something…

The Nadine model is basically finished. I’m had some studio lights and a camera that I thought of adding but it might dominate the stage too much. I’ll check with Hayley.

I’m hoping that Nadine will see it. If you can help out by tweeting her the pics it would be great.

Don’t think I had forgotten about this little project. I was struggling to find a suitable material to make the stage from. Then it hit me. I could make it out of a CD. I took a blank CD and then burned Insatiable onto it 20 times. Then I cut it up to make the stage.

Photobucket

WARNING: CDs are made of very hard plastic and when you cut them they can be very sharp. I’ve done my best to file all the edges and corners away. I don’t recommend trying this yourself

I’ve built a little stage for Nadine to stand on. It has little rubber feet so it won’t scratch any surface it’s placed on. I’ll be painting it to make it look like the video.

Keep checking back for more. See part 1, part 2 and part 3 for the story so far.

Nadine’s revs were pushing to 10 babe this weekend.

Nadine Coyle @Nadine Coyle
It is a beautiful day in long beach California for some grand prix racing. Xx

I’m pretty jealous of her antics over the past few days. The Long Beach Grand Prix, one of the most prestigious Indy Car races, is one that I’d give almost anything to attend. I don’t know what capacity Diney was there in, but I hope she had fun. I’m hoping to find some pictures of her at the event.

Time for an update on the model. Nadine’s all painted now.

This bit was fairly straightforward really. It was just a matter of painting her clothes black, using the video to get things like the shoes and tights right. Chosing a good colour for the hair was tough but I think I made a good choice.

Welcome to part two. I decided to depict Nadine in the part of the video where she’s in front of the dotted background. Her outfit is a sort of swimsuit thing with a jacket on top. So first I had to hack away between her legs (don’t take that out of context Nadine) to remove the skirt on the figure. Then I had to make the jacket. I did this by cutting the corner off one of those little plastic bags, and trimming it to shape. It’s see through for now but will get painted.

The first part to paint was her skin. The jacket has long sleeves so I just had to paint her hands, as well as her face, her chest and her legs.

At this stage it doesn’t matter if she’s showing too much skin. It’s easier to correct with the black. Apologies for the poor quality picture. I tried to take one where you could see the jacket.

See part 1 here.

With Nadine on Top Model as a judge and the popularity of my Love Machine model, I’ve decided that more modelling is appropriate. I decided to have a go at the Insatiable video, and Hayley suggested documenting my progress. So here’s part one, and you can see what goes into making a mini Girl Aloud.

Starting off by raiding a pack of HO scale model railway figures, I found this lovely lady:

She’ll do nicely, but she’s holding a coat under her arm. That will have to go, so it’s time to break out the tools:

This is the only situation where hacking away at Nadine with a huge knife is acceptable. Anyway, once she’s tidied up, I’ll get started on painting her.

Oh, and if this model comes out nice, it might be a prize in an upcoming competition. Stay tuned.
