Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle has been told to tone down her accent to crack America.

Even our Irish mate Larry can’t understand what the feck Nadine Coyle is saying half the time. So it’s no surprise the Girls Aloud outsider has been told to tone down her accent to crack America.

The owner of the best pins in pop is having elocution lessons so our Yankee chums won’t reach for the remote whenever she’s parked on a chat show sofa.

Our plummy source said: “Nadine is determined to make it big in America when she releases her debut solo album there next year. She considers the US to be home now and it’s where the real money is.

“She’s been told to tone down her accent so people can make sense of the TV interviews. And she’s willing to do whatever it takes to succeed.”

There’s no denying Nads has the best voice in the band but we agree she could do with a Joanna Lumley voiceover. Trying to understand what she’s actually saying is near impossible now her Derry twang’s mixed with a trans-Atlantic drawl.

And with rival Cheryl Cole launching her solo career in the US at the same time the stakes to succeed are very high indeed. But Nads is raking in such big bucks from her Irish-themed bars over there she’s unlikely to be joining the dole queue even if her latest pop crusade fails.

“The bars and restaurants are flying at the moment,” she gushed. “My mum and dad run them so you really do get the authentic Coyle experience. “It helps the Californian one is right on the beach but I think it is a bit different and special and that definitely helps.”

Let’s hope the same goes for your new material – and voice – when it finally drops, wee girl.
