10th April – Arriving at Heathrow airport

Nadine’s trip to London ended yesterday as she was seen at Heathrow Airport.

Nads was dressed in towering heels, blue pastel skinny jeans and a white t-shirt. Oh and large sunglasses for good luck (or to keep the paparazzi camera bulbs away!)

Rumours are coming in that GA met up in London yesterday (6th April). This story is being reported in The Sun, Digital Spy, and MTV. The story appears to originate in The Sun and unsurprisingly features no named source, so handle with care. Their fact checking seems a little off, again, that comes as no surprise.

The only quote in the stories consists of the “source” saying:

The girls have been trying to organise a meeting for months but have been so busy with solo projects.

“They were really excited to see each other — even though Cheryl, Nicola and Kimberley meet up regularly.

“They haven’t seen much of Sarah recently following her stint in rehab and Nadine has been out of the picture living in LA.

“Nadine was eager to speak to the girls face-to-face to ensure there is no bad blood.

Taking that at fact value seems to be fairly good news, at least it’s telling us what we already know. The Sun article features a new picture: Possibly a little unflattering but she does look nice.

New footage of Nadine appeared in a BBC2 programme over the weekend called ‘I’m In A Girl Group’.

Looking her usual gorgeous self, she spoke about the process of song lyrics and the amount of people it takes to manage Girls Aloud.

Well if Dean Piper is to be believed, the answer is an emphatic YES!

The “Celebrity & Showbiz Expert and Cultural Commentator” ran into Diney at Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Oscar Party (see previous entry). In Nadine’s own words:

“I know everyone’s been speculating about what we will do. It will be arena dates at the start of next year and we will have new music to go with it.
“One or two singles I would think. It depends on how well it goes with the tour announcement. If things work well, there’s enough demand and we’re all in the same head space as a band then who knows what could happen.
“I’m definitely looking forward to seeing the girls. It’s been a long time since we’ve all been in the same room together.”

That’s great news as far as I’m concerned. Being the sceptical so-and-so that I am, I’ll still hold back some excitement for when some truly official news comes in. But this looks as legit as we’re gonna get for now. Rejoice Girls Aloud fans, we’re getting our Girls back soon.

Nadz commented on the other girls too:

“I’ve been really worried about Sarah and I’m glad to see she’s getting better,”

“I’m thrilled Kimberley’s doing well on the West End and Cheryl and Nicola are working hard on their music.

“Everyone was so keen to put Cheryl and me against each other – but we just weren’t enemies. We are very different people musically, that’s all.”

She also commented on her own music work:

“I went with Tesco because I wanted to be in control and I’m proud of what I achieved. Cheryl was always going to do far better chart wise – she was on X Factor to begin with. I’ve spent six years in LA now – maybe I needed to be in the UK more.”

Finally, a comment on her ex-fiance Jason:

“Jason is still a part of my life and it has been a tricky one to let go of. We speak all the time and ultimately I guess it’s just complicated with us.”

It’s been a long time since we had some genuine Nadine news to write about and it’s great that it’s such a positive article.

Today is the ninth anniversary of probably the most important moment in Nadine’s career. The moment that Girls Aloud were formed. Nadine was the 3rd girl announced in the tense final.

This was followed by Girls Aloud’s first number 1 with Sound Of The Underground. In the nine years since, Nadine had been able to reach pop music’s highest heights. The 7 years of success with Girls Aloud including six albums and 21 singles. That was the springboard to her solo career with Insatiable as well as her current life in the USA.

Meanwhile, we patiently wait for Girls Aloud to reunite and bring so much musical pleasure to so many of us.

Here’s to the next nine, Aloud and proud forever!

It’ll be a while yet before Nadz reaches the 3 decade mark. She’s only on the quarter century. It’s nice to see that she doesn’t ignore the other girls as is often claimed in the usual places.

Just a quick follow up on the Heat story from the other day.

Pressparty’s story just confirms what Nadine told us on twitter.

Upon hearing the news, Coyle took to her official Twitter account to deny the entire story as false and wrote: “Ps I did not “sit down exclusively with heat” to speak about anything.”

Obviously, with today being Halloween, it would have been nice to show Ghost Hunting With Girls Aloud. But Nadine didn’t go. However, she explains why in this Jonathan Ross interview with the rest of the Girls.
