Nadine Coyle has hit back at reports claiming she wants to perform on X Factor, insisting she’d never go on the ‘mean’ show because it wouldn’t show off her vocal talents enough.
The Irish beauty is launching her debut album next month, so a slot on the ITV talent show could really help show off her new music just as it has done for Katy Perry, Diana Vickers and Usher.
Brushing aside rumours that she was desperate to perform on the show, feisty Miss Coyle told Metro.co.uk she wanted to play no part in it – or BBC rival Strictly Come Dancing – because it would mean she’d have to compromise and mime her vocals – much like fellow Girls Aloud member Cheryl Cole was said to have done last night.
Although she doesn’t watch the show as she spends most of her time in Los Angeles, she also insisted she could never take a place next to Cheryl as a judge because she is too nice.
She said: ‘I’m not doing Strictly Come Dancing or X Factor for this campaign. I only want to do live shows.
‘I think the problem, well not the problem as such, but what happens with TV shows is you can’t always do things live. You can’t really get the full effect and with Insatiable being such a big song and because I’m just starting off I want it to be all about doing stuff live.
Nadine has finally gone to an event whilst in the UK and she chose The Q Awards to turn up to. I’ve added 43 HQs at the event and inside, and 10 HQs of her leaving her home and arriving outside.
Feuds, fallouts, sniping and snubs. For a band who haven’t released any new material in nearly two years, Girls Aloud are still making one hell of a din.
And somehow it’s Nadine Coyle who finds herself cast as the villain of the piece. Her relocation to LA three years ago has, according to some, rendered a group reunion impossible.
Earlier this year there were claims from the Girls Aloud camp that the only person holding up a reunion was Nadine.
But behind the headlines, there’s another side to the story. In an astonishingly frank interview, Nadine tells us she’s genuinely baffled at the blame dumped at her door – especially as she claims she’s made repeated attempts to get in touch with the others which have gone ignored.
Until now, only her closest friends and family have seen the distress she’s tried to hide.
“It’s upsetting because people think it’s my fault,” she says. “When I was first told that’s what everyone was thinking, I couldn’t understand it – why blame me? How has it swung in that direction? I really don’t know. I thought everything in the garden was rosy.
“Two years ago, we all agreed to take a break to give people time to do their own things, and this has all just blown up. It really hurts when I hear things like I’m holding the girls back. It’s just absurd. People can make up their own minds but honestly, it’s not true.”
She’s expressive as she talks, and her voice goes up an octave, indicating her confusion. It’s not quite clear why, but the tight-knit friendship the five girls formed after being thrown together eight years ago on Popstars The Rivals seems to no longer exist as far as Ms Coyle is concerned.
There is speculation that Nadine has been frozen out by Kimberley Walsh, 28, Sarah Harding, 28, Cheryl Cole, 27, and 25-year-old Nicola Roberts. There were even whispers – later denied – that she was set to be ousted, with the other four happy to go on without her.
Whatever the reality, the future of the record-breaking girl band looks uncertain at the very least.
Nadine tweeted today on her Twitter page that she WILL be doing album signings, and she will start in Ireland
My first signing is in IRELAND! X Week of album release. 2weeks from now!! #insatiable I cannot wait to see you! X
Nadine has also been rehearsing, presumingly for G.A.Y at the end of the month
Currently at band rehearsals! They are SILLY good.. It feels great to be part of this. Live players playing my songs amaze me! Xx

Nadine Coyle exclusively sets the record straight about THOSE Girls Aloud wedding reports
NADINE Coyle has exclusively set the record straight about reports that Girls Aloud won’t be invited to her wedding.
In an OK.co.uk exclusive, Nadine Coyle has denied rumours that she’s set the date for her wedding and will be leaving Girls Aloud off the guest list.
Asked if the rumours that her Girls Aloud bandmates have been snubbed are true she told us: “No, not at all.”
And despite reports suggesting she is getting married in New York on her birthday next June, the Northern Irish lass told us she and fiance Jason Bell are a long way off setting the date.
She added: “We’ve got no wedding plans. I still keep calling him my boyfriend. I’m just trying to get the fact that I’m engaged sinking in never mind wedding plans. I’d rather just drag this out for a long time. We haven’t even had an engagement party.”
“One of my best friends is getting married in 2010 and that’s for her – that whole year’s booked out. Nobody can get married the year before and nobody can get married that entire year. So I’m at least pushed back to 2013.”
OK.co.uk spent the day with Nadine chatting to her about her new solo venture Insatiable – and asking all of your Twitter questions and she was simply LOVELY.
Here goes…
Lovely to see you Nadine, tell us about your new single Insatiable…
Insatiable for me was something that pooled all different areas of the album together to give an idea – to show, this is kind of where we are going. It’s got a soulful melody with a rock type of feel but it’s a pop song.
Irish singer Nadine confirmed there is ‘nothing stopping’ a reunion of the estranged girl group at some point in the future. But she did admit that, first of all, she wants to get her debut album Insatiable off the ground.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Nadine said: ‘There is absolutely no rivalry with me and Cheryl. Not one single bit at all.’
These revelations come after months of speculation that the girls are at war after Cheryl’s successful solo career and Nadine’s apparent nonchalant attitude to reuniting the band.
But Nadine, 25, was keen to dismiss these conflict rumours saying they are just different people each with their own ambitions and she is enjoying seeing what the others are now up to as well as working on her own projects.
‘We are completely different people, all five of us were as a matter of fact, and that was why it was so great being ‘the band’. But our own opinions and styles and stuff are totally different so I think it’s really interesting to see what everybody’s doing now,’ she said.
And Cheryl echoed those views at getting the remaining band members back together again on stage: ‘We will but just not now.’
The British fivesome who shot to fame in 2002 after winning Popstars: The Rivals, split last September for a one-year break to work on solo ventures.
